Did any of you people watch C-SPAN during the debate on this bill? This bill, that’s being rammed down the throats of the American people by congress is unbelievable (Don’t even pretend like these people represent us). You do all realize this is just a tax and higher expenses on all of us, right? (BTW, as long as you’re OK with paying more in taxes and much higher prices for goods and services, then I have no problem with you supporting it, as long as you know what you’re supporting).
Now don’t get me wrong, I do think that we, as a country, have to tackle energy dependency, some serious pollution issues, and our general every day living and the footprint we leave, and I even have no issue with paying more to do so, but this bill, being passed by politicians using “Global Warming”, er, “Climate Change”, as it’s backing is not the way to go. Yes yes, I know that you greens are going to praise this bill as a win and say that we need to do whatever it takes to get these things through, all in the name of “Saving the planet” but come on, seriously, this isn’t the way to go. Don’t any of you remember 20+ years ago when the fear was the next Ice Age coming? All the greens and the politicians were running around screaming we’re going to die because we can’t plant enough food, NY will freeze over etc. Well, look where we are now…quite the opposite.
Unfortunately for the greens, I would wager, that in the next couple of years, you will be thrown to the wolves by those same politicians when the whole “climate change” thing is finally proven to be caused by the sun and not humans, and there’s a backlash from the general public due to their rising costs of goods or worse, we do actually find ourselves in a cold spell and food becomes an issue. Not only that, but only an idiot would want to cool our planet down. Civilizations are created during warm spells. Food grows better, people thrive. Cold spells bring us things like the Dark Ages and it will be amusing to see how well you do when we’re under a dictator and he (yeah, it won’t be a she because you’ll all be pushed back to the kitchen and expected to raise the children that you must have to harvest your turnips) could give a rats ass about your green agenda. This bill, and the way it was handled by the political elite, will unfortunately end up setting you back another 15-20 years on any new agenda you try to get people to take up in the political level after this is proven a myth.
If you really wanted to do something productive for the environment, then tackle issues that can be solved, and won’t end up coming back to bite you.
Here are some ideas for you….
Play on the boomers wanting to correct their “excesses” of the past (which, btw, help build this country into what it is) and do things like
- preserve more green space,
- cleanup the pollution in the ground
- get rid of those awful plastic bags that find themselves around every corner.
- Convince people/countries to clean up that island of trash in the pacific.
Seriously, again, I have to ask, WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? You just let congress pass a bill that does nothing other than slap more taxes and expenses on you, all in the name of questionable science, and proving a point.
